Create a Group from a Template

When creating a Group, you can generate a new Group from a Template.

A Template is a model Group, that includes contents (Post, Modules, Exercises, ...) and customized settings. This allows an Instructor to quickly start a course with a Group already tailored to their educational needs.

After creating a Group from a Template, you will still be able to further edit and customize it. For example, you can delete resources from the original Template and enable or disable sections of the Group.

You can create a Group starting from:

Template WeSchool

This feature is available for all plans.

WeSchool Templates were designed by WeSchool’s Instructional Designers to guide you in setting up a Group based on the specific needs of your course.
In each Group created from a WeSchool Template, you will find:

  • guides and useful resources for organizing teaching activities
  • the WeSchool sections most suitable for your course

Here are the available templates:

  • The tutor can use this template to follow the Learner step-by-step, planning a personalized learning path.
    In this Template, the following areas are active: Modules and Calendar.

  • A group of students participates in the course simultaneously, learning together at the same pace while the Tutor schedules activities, gathers feedback, and ensures everyone is engaged.
    In this Template, the following areas are active: Wall, Modules, Exercises, Record, and Calendar.

  • A course designed for students who follow the course independently, at their own pace. Participants autonomously consult the resources the Tutor has made available from the start of the course.
    In this Template, the following areas are active: Modules, Exercises, and Record. <></>

  • This template is designed to create customized training paths for your Team.
    In this Template, the following areas are active: Wall, Modules, Exercises, Record, and Calendar.

  • This is a template for school teaching. Using this template, you can create lessons and educational paths for your students.
    In this Template, the following areas are active: Wall, Modules, Exercises, Record, and Calendar.

  • An online community where participants can learn together, interact, and share ideas: all members are encouraged to participate in conversations on the topic and share resources with others.
    In this Template, the following areas are active: Wall, Modules, and Calendar.

  • Using this template, you can guide employees in their onboarding process in the company or within new teams and projects.
    In this Template, the following areas are active: Wall, Modules, Exercises, Record, and Calendar.

Follow these steps to create a Group from a WeSchool Template:

  • From the Group creation modal, select the WeSchool Template option:

    You can choose a WeSchool Template either when creating your first Group during the setup of your first Space, or when creating any other Group.

  • Then you can choose between different Group models, each with specific features and resources tailored to the activity you have planned. Select the Template and click Save:

  • Finally, customize the name, image, and description of the Group. Confirm the creation by clicking Create New Group:

    Creating a Group from a Template may take a few moments. You will receive a notification as soon as the new Group is ready.

Custom Template from your Space

This feature is available for Pro, Enterprise, and Free Plans for schools and teachers who have claimed their Space

Custom Templates are models that the Admin of a Space has set up from an existing Group within the Space. When you create a new Group starting from a Custom Template, you will automatically import from the Template Group:

  • the image and description 
  • the Modules and their settings (e.g. Prerequisites, Fixed Order, ...)
  • the contents
  • the pinned Post at the top
  • the Exercises
  • the WeSchool sections enabled or disabled

Follow these steps to create a Group starting from a Custom Template from your Space:

  • From the Group creation modal, select the third option, Name of your Space Template:

  • Then you can choose between different Group models, set up by the Admin of your Space. Select the Template and click Save.

  • Finally, customize the name, the image and the description of the Group. Confirm the creation by clicking on Create New Group:

    Creating a Group from a Template may take a few moments. You will receive a notification as soon as the new Group is ready.
