You can create a new Badge in your Space by following a guided creation process where you can:
- add an image, choosing from a set of preset images or uploading an image from your device
- name the Badge and personalize the description, the issuance criteria, and the name of the issuing organization
- set the Badge validity period
- define the Groups associated with the Badge and its visibility for the users
You can read the steps to complete the creation of a new Badge here:
-
To get started, access the Badges section of the Space Dashboard and click on + New Badge to begin the guided Badge creation process:
The Badges section of the Dashboard is accessible only to the Admins of a Space.
- Add an image to your new Badge; you can choose between:
- uploading an image from your device: click on the purple box and choose an image in PNG or SVG format from your device, up to a maximum of 100 Mb
- using a default image from the carousel at the bottom of the window
In the center of the modal, you will see a preview of the image. Click on Next to continue:
- In the next step, you can enter your Badge information:
- the name of the Badge
- the description of the Badge. Use this field to provide more details, such as the purposes or skills the badge certifies or the activities or projects that must be completed to earn the badge
- the criteria for issuing the Badge. Here specify the requirements necessary to obtain the certification, such as participating in a series of workshops or passing a test
- the name of the organization that issued the Badge and verified the skills. This field is automatically, pre-filled, but can be customized
-
Finally, you need to set:
- The validity period of the Badge from the issuance date. Select the duration from the dropdown menu.
If you do not set a duration, the issued Badge will not have an expiration date.
-
choose whether to make the Badge visible in the associated Groups.
If a Badge is visible, users will be able to see it on the Wall, so they know they can earn the Badge by completing the Group's activities. If a Badge is private, it will not be visible on the Wall - associate the Badge with the Groups of the Space: open the dropdown menu and select the Groups
To issue a Badge to a user, the user must be part of the Group to which the Badge is associated. You can’t issue a Badge if it is not associated with any Group.
-
To complete the creation you can now click on:
- Save to create the Badge and add it to the Badge list. You can proceed with the issue at a later time
- Proceed with the Issue to save the Badge and start issuing it immediately as an NFT or Open Badge. This option is not available if you have not associated any Group with the Badge
Once a Badge is created, you can edit it, provided it has not yet been issued. To change the Groups associated with the Badge, you can follow this guide.
