Through Exercises and Tests, Instructors can assess Learners' knowledge using a didactic tool that allows them to evaluate the level of preparation of Learners based on the educational content covered in class.
Only Instructors can create a new Assessment.
Below you can read in detail:
Differences between an Exercise and a Test
-
An Exercise is a repeatable Assessment that Learners can take as many times as they want. Read here how to set the Assessment as an Exercise.
Consider using Exercises for ongoing check-ins to monitor Learners’ progress; additionally, use automatically graded questions to help Learners improve independently through self-evaluation.
Exercises are marked by the label REPEATABLE EXERCISE in the Assessment page:
-
A Test is a non-repeatable Assessment that Learners can take only once. Read here how to set the Assessment as a Test.
Consider using Tests to assess Learners’ level at the end of a Module or a Course or to assign a certification or a final grade.
Tests are marked by the label TEST in the Assessment page:

These questions will be auto-corrected:
- True or false: Enter a question; the answer must be true or false.
- Short answer: Enter a question with correct answers. The response is correct only if it matches one of the provided answers.

- Crossword: Create a puzzle with words and definitions. At least 70% of the entered words must be correct for a valid answer.
- Videoquiz: Choose a YouTube video and add questions. At least 70% correct responses are needed for a valid answer.
- Fill in the blank: Provide a text with missing words. At least 70% of the answers must be correct.
- Matching: Pair content (text, images, etc.). All pairs must be correctly matched for a valid answer.
- Pair the cards: Create pairs of cards. The answer is correct only if all pairs are matched without exceeding the allowed mistakes.
An Instructor must manually correct these questions:
- Open answer: Answers are graded by the instructor, who can mark them as correct or incorrect and leave comments.
- Reply with attachment: The instructor evaluates the attached content to determine correctness.
